PR Press respects the intellectual property of others and expects the same in return. This policy explains how to notify us of material on prpress.co.uk that you believe infringes your copyright, and how we handle such notices.
Our position
All original reporting, writing, layout and imagery on this site is owned by PR Press or used under licence. We do not knowingly publish infringing material. Where we quote from a copyrighted work we do so briefly, with attribution, for the purposes of reporting and criticism. If we have nonetheless used something we should not have, we want to fix it quickly.
Sending a takedown notice
Send your notice through our Contact Us page, marked clearly as a copyright notice. To be actionable it must include all of the following: identification of the copyrighted work you say has been infringed; the exact URL or URLs on this site where the material appears; a statement that you are the rights owner or authorised to act on the owner’s behalf; a statement made in good faith that the use is not authorised by the owner, its agent or the law; a statement that the information in the notice is accurate; your name, address and a working email address; and your physical or electronic signature.
What we do
We review every complete notice promptly. Where the claim is clear we remove or disable access to the material, usually within two to five working days, and we notify the person who published it. Where the position is genuinely arguable — for example a short quotation used in reporting — we will explain our view and discuss it with you rather than acting unilaterally. Incomplete notices are returned with a note about what is missing.
Counter-notices
If your material was removed and you believe that was a mistake or a misidentification, you may send a counter-notice. It must identify the material and its former location, state under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the removal was in error, and include your name, address, email and signature, together with consent to jurisdiction where appropriate. We will forward the counter-notice to the original complainant and may restore the material unless they pursue the matter further.
Misuse of this process
Copyright notices are a legal instrument, not a reputation-management tool. We do not remove accurate journalism because its subject dislikes it, and we treat notices sent for that purpose as abusive. Knowingly making a material misrepresentation in a takedown notice can carry legal liability for the sender.
Repeat infringement
We do not host user-submitted content, so third-party repeat infringement is not a feature of this site. Internally, any confirmed infringement prompts a review of how the material was sourced and of the process that allowed it through.
